About

Hi, my name is Lisa Weeks, and I’m a physical therapist specializing in women’s pelvic health. My journey in this field began in 2006 as a personal trainer at an all-women’s gym, where I discovered a passion for helping women feel stronger and more connected to their bodies. After earning my physical therapy degree and board certification in 2013, I began treating patients with chronic pain, developing a strong foundation in manual therapy.Drawn to pelvic health through both professional interest and personal experience, I pursued advanced training and went on to work in a dedicated pelvic health clinic, followed by a leadership role as the primary women’s health physical therapist at a prestigious hospital. With over 15,000 hours of direct pelvic floor therapy and a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) from the Herman & Wallace Institute, I now bring this expertise into my own practice—focused on compassionate, holistic, and individualized care.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two sons, along with baking, yoga, and reading a good book.
-Lisa Weeks, PT, MPT, PRPC

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a physician referral to see a physical therapist?
No. In California, you can see a physical therapist without a physician’s referral.
What should I expect at the first appointment?
Your provider will start by getting to know you—asking about your medical history, current symptoms, goals for physical therapy, and anything else you'd like to share.Next, we will perform a physical examination tailored to your concerns. This may include assessing: Mobility and soft tissue restriction of the hips, back, abdomen and thighs. As well as core strength and posture. To thoroughly evaluate the pelvic floor, an internal examination via the vagina and/or rectum may be recommended. This helps assess muscle tone, strength, coordination, and range of motion.Consent is always obtained before any part of the exam, including the internal assessment.Afterward, your provider will review their findings with you and create a personalized treatment plan.If you have questions or concerns before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.
